Description

AMPLICEF-200 contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil 200 mg, a third-generation oral cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity.

Cefpodoxime inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), leading to cell lysis and death. It is stable against many beta-lactamases, making it effective against resistant Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms.

The dispersible formulation ensures improved patient compliance, especially in pediatric and geriatric populations, by allowing administration after dispersion in water.

It is indicated in respiratory, urinary, skin, and ENT infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Cefpodoxime Proxetil IP equivalent to Cefpodoxime 200 mg
